She was retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish school system and employed with the Sillman Institute, pre-K-4 in Clinton. Visitation at Grangeville Baptist Church, Grangeville, on Thursday, March 4, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Burial in the church cemetery. Survived by her husband, Wayne Mayers; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Sherri and Randy Reynolds, Cindi and Darrel Reddit, Laurie Dunham and Brandi Lilly; four brothers, James, Pete, Dale and Tom Bass; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Burwell and Merle Pritchard Bass; and sister-in-law, Marie Bass. She was a member of Grangeville Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 4324 N. Beltline Road, Suite C-206, Irving, TX 75038. Arrangements by Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs.
