Robert Towns, 30, Succumbs
Robert Dale Towns, 30, of 225 N. Pike St., died this morning after being in failing health for several years. Death was caused by a complication of diseases. Mr. Towns, a former employee of Porter Steel Specialites and a former member of the Shelbyville National Guard, was born in Shelby county on August 2, 1917, the son of Charles and Carolyn (Nading) Towns. His mother preceded him in death 18 years ago and his father resides at the N. Pike St. address. Surviving with the father are three sisters and four brothers, MRs. Cecil Shadley,, Virgil and Jack Towns and Mrs. Chandos Bates of this city; C. Edwin Towns of Rushville; Mrs. T.J. Hargadon of El Monte, Cal., and Harold Towns of Danville, Ill. Mr. Towns was a member of the First Methodist Church here. Funeral rites will be conducted Monday and burial will be made in Forst Hill cemetery but time for the services will be announced later by Charles M. Ewing.
RITES FOR ROBERT TOWNS WILL BE HELD MONDAY
Funeral services for Robert Dale Towns, 30 year old local resident who lived at 225 N. Pike St., will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o?clock. Mr. Towns died Friday morning. The rites will be conducted at the Charles M. Ewing mortuary and burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Sunday.
