Theo Lillian Towne
Theo Lillian Towne, 85, formerly of the Waldron Health Care Center, died today at Major Hospital. Born July 23, 1904, her parents were Christopher and Daisy (Anderson) Duffy. She and her husband Virgil S. Towne, who died in 1974, were married Dec. 25, 1923. She lived most of her life in Shelby county and was a bookkeeper for the former Walker?s Wholesale Store in Shelbyville. She was a member of the Junior Corterie, Trinity United Methodist church and the Ladies Society at the church. Surviving are a son, William D. Towne, R.R. 1 Flat Rock; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Preceding Mrs. Towne in death was a brother who died in infancy. Services will be at the Carmony-Ewing Funeral Home, 819 S. Harrison St. at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Yvonne Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
