Rev. Jesse Towns
Rev. Jesse Towns, 86, Clearwater, Fla., retired Nazarene minister and Shelby county native, died Monday evening at the Standish Garden Nursing Home in Dunedin, Fla. Born in Marion Township June 22, 1883, the Rev. Towns was the son of James and Cynthia Ellen (Rhodes) Towns. He was first married to Effie Talbert who preceded him in death. He later married Ada Mills, who survives in Clearwater. Also surviving are a son, Ray E. Towns, Connellsville, Pa.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Nora Coers, R.R. 4., Mrs. Blanche Talbert and Mrs. Bertha Golding, Shelbyville, and one brother, James Towns, Indianapolis. The Rev. Towns served several churches in Indiana and was a former superintendent of the Indianapolis district of Nazarene churches. Services will be in Clearwater.
