Cary Childs (Picture included)
LIMA ? Cary Calvin Childs, 68, died at 7:25 PM on Monday, March 6, 2017, expired at his home in Lima, Ohio.
Cary was born on Monday, July 19, 1948, in Defiance, Ohio, to the late Harley R. Childs and Vera May (Fuller) Childs.
He was a 1966 Bath Graduate. Mr. Childs served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Linda S. Bassitt on March 26, 1971 in Harrod, OH. she survives in Lima. He had worked at Neon Products and Bath School. He was a member of Bluffton Senior Citizens Center and the Wapakoneta Eagles Post 196. He loved horses and his hobbies were woodworking and traveling.
He is survived by his family.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Funeral Home.
Interment of ashes will be in Lafayette Cemetery, Lafayette, Ohio, with graveside military honors conducted by VFW Post 1275.
