George I. Hardter
George I. Hardter, 71, of 111 Campbell Road, Mattydale, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mr. Hardter was a life resident of the Syracuse area. He retired in 1974 as a machinist after 35 years with New Process Gear Division of Chrysler Corp. His wife, Harriet, died in 1983.
Surviving are four daughters, Harriet Payne of Syracuse, Dorothy Leonelli of Caughdenoy, and Nancy and Donna Hardter, both of Mattydale; two sons, George Jr. of Syracuse and Ronald of Phoenix; two brothers, Eddie of Diamond Springs, Calif., and Howard of Cortland; a sister, Beatrice Hardter of Syracuse; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Onondaga Hill. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 4504 W. Seneca Turnpike.
