Sally Sue O?Grady
Sally Sue O'Grady Sally Sue O'Grady, 79, of Papillion, NE, formerly of Topeka, passed away Thursday, February, 9, 2017. She was born September 4, 1937 in Council Grove, KS, the daughter of J. Monroe and Kathern Deetta Louise (Bassett) Williamson. Sally attended Emporia College and worked for the State of Kansas for 39 years. She worked for The Board of Agriculture, The Department of Administration, Personnel Services and The Department Of Health And Environment. She spent the bulk of her state service in Personnel Services and retired in 1996 after spending over 7 years as The Personnel Director for The Department of Health and Environment. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and P.E.O. She also served 9 years as a member of The Public Employee Relations Board. Sally enjoyed taking trips, spending time with her friends and family and she lived for her three grandchildren. Sally married Richard P. O'Grady on August 20, 1960. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Kathleen O'Grady-Bell (Ron) of Papillion, NE; three grandchildren, Patrick, Brandon and Alexis Bell and a brother, Jay Williamson (Peggy), sisters-in-law, Janice Morgan and Marge (Ed) Beekman. She also had many loved cousins and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Bauman. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW. 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW. 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606.
