Miss Shockley, Mr. Bassett Exchange Vows
FAYETTEVILLE ? The wedding of Miss Glenda Rene Shockley and David S. Bassett was solemnized January 2 in the First Baptist Church. Dr. Andrew Hall officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Shockley of Harrison. Mrs. Troy Burton and Joe D. Bassett are parents of the bridegroom.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of taffeta trimmed in antique lace and designed with a chapel train. A pillbox held her pearl-trimmed veil, and her bouquet was of feathered carnations.
Miss Joan Shockley served her sister as maid of honor. Miss Alice Shockley, sister of the bride, served as bridesmaid.
John Shockley, brother of the bride, was best man. David Shockley, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Jerry Young of Harrison and Richard Nelson of Chicago were ushers. Miss Tammy Lynn Shockley lighted the candles.
A reception was held in the church parlors followed the ceremony.
The couple is at home in Fayetteville after a trip to New Orleans.
