Janie Parsons Bass ?Momma Bass?, a native of Port Arthur, Texas, and a resident of Baker, Louisiana passed away on June 16, 2016 at her home at the age of 85 surrounded by her family. She was an amazing woman an was the epitome of caring. She touched many and she will remain in many hearts. When she sees Jesus, he will present her with many crowns. She was retired from American Bank. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia McClelland and husband Robert, Elaine McClue and husband Terry, and Dana Bass; son, Mikal Ray Bass and wife Mary; brother, Jack Parsons and wife Lucy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Rayford Bass; daughter Janie Ganyell Ables; brother, David Parsons, three sisters, Joyce Chapman, Lee Avara, Pauline Riley, Visitation will be Monday, June 20, 2016, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home Downtown, 825 Government St., from 5 to 8 PM. Visitation will resume Teusday at First Baptist Church in Baker from 11 AM until funeral service at 1:00. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery next to her husband, where flags mark his grave under the tree that he loved which he chose while suffering with cancer., Online condolences can be offered at www. rabenhorst.com.
