Oliver S. Bassett Laid to Rest in Newaygo Cemetery
Burial services were held last Sunday in Newaygo cemetery for Oliver S. Bassett, 78, former resident of Newaygo, who passed away Friday at his home in Sparta, where he had resided for the past three years.
While living in Newaygo, Mr. Bassett was employed, until his retirement some years ago, by the Pere Marquette railway. The family left Newaygo about seven years ago, going to Kent City and later moving to Sparta.
Mr. Bassett leaves the widow, Martha; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Miller of Charlevoix and Marie and Laura Bell at home, one son, Fred, of Northport, and ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at a funeral home in Kent City.
