Lawrence Bass, 72 of East Providence passed away Monday May 18, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Donna J. (Welshman) Bass to whom he was married for 39 years. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Clarence and Anna (Fernandes) Bass.
Lawrence was a Cable Technician for Verizon for 37 years, and a Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Africa, he was an extra in Lawrence of Arabia, he also enjoyed woodworking and won an award from Birds in Bloom Magazine.
In addition to his wife he was the loving father of Gregory Bass of East Providence, and Kimberly Bass of East Providence.
A funeral for Lawrence will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the PERRY MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church Taunton Avenue, East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rehoboth Village Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8 PM.
