Edwin B. Bassett
(October 17, 1910 – November 12, 2011
Edwin Bruce Bassett, 101, of Palm Harbor Florida, formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Saturday November 12, 2011 peacefully at home with his granddaughter by his side. Mr. Bassett retired as an engineer from the FAA. He is a member of Coast Guard Flotilla 98, Charlotte Harbor and has served for over 30 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Haggard and her husband Kenneth, their daughters, Melissa Joseph and her husband, Sam, Kimberly Haggard and Stacey Cavanagh, his daughter-in-law, Molly Bassett and her 3 daughters, Kitty Haynes and her husband, Daniel, Deborah Bassett and Sheri Cooke and her husband Bryan and seven great grandchildren He is preceded in death by his wife, Estella and son, Donald A. Bassett.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church 23084 Seneca Ave. Charlotte Harbor, Florida. Entombment will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Punta Gorda, Florida.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
