      Christine Bassett (C.B.) Grady, 70

Christine Bassett ('C.B.') Grady, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and faithful servant of The Holy Trinity, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 30, 1946. She returned to the arms of Christ on November 14, 2016.

Chris, as she was known to her friends, attended St. Anne's (Episcopal) School for Girls in Arlington, Massachusetts, followed by Newfound Regional High School in Bristol, New Hampshire, where she graduated with honors in 1964. She then graduated from Plymouth (NH) State College in 1968 and was later awarded a dual Master of Science/Master of Arts in Microbiology from State University of New York at Plattsburg.

Chris was a passionate 'A' student with a life-long love of science, history, and learning, as well as being a lover of literature, music, film, and sports. Her favorite artists included John Steinbeck, James Michener, Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. A lifelong Red Sox fan, Chris especially loved baseball and her cats.

Chris was an empathic, charitable, and loving woman who dedicated her life to the service of others. Wherever she lived - including Dedham, Massachusetts; Alexandria, New Hampshire; Amarillo, Texas; and Tampa & Gainesville, Florida - she selflessly gave of her time, heart, wisdom, grace, and talents, blessing the lives of family, friends, coworkers, and strangers alike. In particular at Kilgore Children's Hospital (Amarillo) and at The Plaza Triple Theatre (Gainesville), 'Ms. Grady' nurtured maturity and compassion in those who worked for and with her.

In her chosen final Earthly home of Zephyrhills, Florida, Chris cared for her mother in her final six years, served as church secretary at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, and volunteered tirelessly. Her church's Episcopal Church Women group, Azalea House, Angel Tree Kids, Heartland of Zephyrhills, the city's homeless men, women, & families, and many others, benefited from her love, labor, and leadership.

Preceded by her beloved parents, Howard Wallace Bassett and Evelyn Morse Bassett (Safford), Chris is survived by her son, Howard Scott Jones, her granddaughter, Guinevere Ruth Elizabeth Jones, her sister, Barbara Ann Romans, her brother-in-law Murray Romans, her former husband Brad Jones, former daughters-in-law Elizabeth Jones & Rebecca Jones, and four nieces and nephews - Heather, Bruce, Jennifer, and Chuck.

A service celebrating Christine's life will be held at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, 5855 16th St, in Zephyrhills. (Contact hsjones2112@gmail.com for date and time soon as it's available.) All are welcome. Her remains will be buried with her parents' at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Elizabeth's ECW to support the continuation of Christine's works. Contact June Ruege at 813-293-6355.
