Robert James Bassett Sr.
Robert "Bob" James Bassett Sr., 84, of Newaygo, peacefully passed away on March 10, 2023.
He was born on November 22, 1938, to Lora and Lillian (Ramsey) Bassett in Coral, Michigan.
Bob is survived by his children, Cynthia (Chris) Lynn Merrow, Bob Bassett Jr., Mike (Helen Denno) Bassett, Barbie (Travis Gress) Bassett, grandchildren; Ashley, Robin, Robert III, Destiny, Devin, Desiree, Crystal, Ryan, Ronnie, Katie; 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Bassett (Austin); daughter-in-law, Vicky Bassett; parents, Lora Bassett and Lillian Bassett; and sister, Dorothy Larson.
Bob had a great sense of humor. He loved his family and grandchildren greatly. He will be missed, by many.
The family invites you to a Memorial Visitation that will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, 10:00AM- 11:00AM with a Memorial Service starting at 11:00AM at Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services Newaygo Chapel, 226 State Rd., Newaygo, MI 49337.
