RUSSELL KINGSLEY BASSETT SOUTH BURLINGTON - Russell K. Bassett, 59, of So. Burlington died on Monday, May 10, 2010, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. He was born on May 16, 1950, the son of Orville Kingsley and Verna (Copeland) Bassett. Russell was a Vietnam veteran, having served with the US Marine Corps. He is survived by his loving ex-wife, Patricia Bacon of Georgia; his six children, Deborah Yildirim of So. Burlington, Jennifer Bassett of Barre, Carrie Esden of Essex, Cynthia Bassett of So. Burlington, Vincent Bassett of Burlington, and Robert Bassett of Georgia; his mother, Verna Bassett; six grandchildren, Kaela, Hailey, Xavier, Ethan, Taylor, and Maya; four sisters, Cynthia Finlayson of Warner, N.H., Christine Bilodeau of Alamagordo, N.M., Darlene Campbell of Burlington, Cheryl Burpee of Roseburg, Ore.; and by several nieces and nephews. Russell was predeceased by his father, Orville K. Bassett. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, with full military honors. A memorial service will follow on Friday, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service Mountain View Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Dr. Essex Junction.
