Eva France Scearce
Eva Frances Scearce Bass, 90, formerly of 4079 S. Boston Hwy, Ringgold, Va. went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, September 12, 2016, at Roman Eagle Rehab & Healthcare Center. She was born March 21, 1926, in Danville, Va. to the late Lelia Parrish Scearce and the late Sydney Jackson Scearce. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Stonewall Bass. Mrs. Bass was a homemaker; she had been a member of Lakewood Community Church since 1958.She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Bass Payne and husband, Kenneth of Danville; her son, Kenneth Wade Bass and wife, Deborah of Ringgold; her sisters, Thelma S. Adkins, and Linda Brewer, both of Danville; her grandchildren, Blake Bass, Patrick Willhite, and Kenneth Payne, Jr.; and nine great-grandchildren.The family would also like to extend special thanks to Kimberly Bass for her loving care shown to Mrs. Bass during her illness.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bass was predeceased by her sister, Cathryn Trent; and her brothers, Marvin Scearce, Buford Scearce, Leland Scearce, Wayne Scearce, and Harold Scearce.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel with the Rev. David Wilson and the Rev. Ryan Call officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville.The family will receive friends Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 11:30 a.m.until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service, and at other times at her son's home, 661 Sandy Creek Road, Ringgold.Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory, Mt.
