To all people to whom these presents shall come, Greeting. Know ye that I Daniel Bassett of Southbury in Litchfield County in Connecticut For the consideration of the Love & Good Will hereunto my Son Robert Clark Bassett of the Town, County and State afore, which is to my full Satisfaction Do give, grant convey and confirm unto the said Robert Clark Bassett his heirs and assigns forever, one Certain piece of Land lying in said Southbury in Southbrittain Society (on George's Hill so called) at the Northern end of my Farm - Beginning at the Southeast Corner of a piece of Meadow with Orchard upon it, on the Highway, from thence to extend West & Northwardly on the Said Highway So far as that the Same shall Contain ten acres of Land, together with a Dwelling House standing thereon, thereof, unto him the said Robert Clark Bassett his Heirs and Assigns for ever, to his and their own proper Use of Behoof. And also, I, the said Daniel Bassett do for myself my Heirs, Executors and administrators, covenant with the said Robert Clark Bassett his Heirs and Assigns, That at and until the ensealing these Presents, I am well seized of the Premises as a good indefeasible Estate in Fee Simple; and have good Right to bargain and sell in same, in the manner and Form as is above written; and that the same is free of all Incumbrances whatsover. And furthermore, I the said Daniel Bassett do, by these Presents, bind myself and my Heirs forever to warrant and defend the granted and given Premises to him the said Robert Clark Bassett his Heirs and Assigns, against all Claims and Demands whatsover. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand this 3rd day of February Anno Domini, 1800.

Samuel Bassett's Power of Attorney From Lemuel Bassett & Others
Know all men by these presents that we Lemuel Bassett & Daniel Bassett of the Town of Ovid, County of Seneca, State of New York & Josiah Garritt & Lucy Garritt of the town of Ulysses, County of Tomkins, State of New York & Robert Clark Bassett of Catherine Town, Tioga County, State of New York have constituted and appointed in our place and stead Samuel Bassett our true and lawful Attorney in our name and stead to make and execute any Deeds or Leases or other Conveyance of any Lands or other Estate of the late Truman Bassett of the Town of Huntington, State of Connecticut and to receive any Monies arising therefrom and also of any Land belonging to or in possession of Elizabeth Bassett of the Town of Southbury, State of Connecticut hereby satisfying all that my Attorney shall do in the above mentioned promises In Witness whereof we have hereto set our hands and seals this Nineteenth day of August, One thousand Eight hundred nineteen.

State of New York, County of Tomkins - On this 17th day of August 1819 came before me Edmond G. Pelton one of the Commissioners of said County to take and acknowledgments Josiah Garritt and Lucy his wife known to me to be the same persons who described in and who executed the within power of Attorney severally acknowledges that they executed the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned & I have examined the said Lucy privately, separately and apart from her said husband she acknowledged that she executed the same freely without any fear or compulsion of her said husband.
State of New York, County of Tioga - On this 20th day of August 1819 came before me Phnieas Catlin one of the Commissioners of said County of Tioga to take and acknowledgements Robert C. Bassett known to me to be the person who executed the within power of Attorney and acknowledges that they duly executed the same for the uses and purposes therein stated.
State of New York, County of Seneca - On this 27th date of August 1819 personally came before me Allyn Boardman one of the Commissioners of the County of Seneca Lemuel Bassett and Samuel Bassett known to me to be the same persons described in and who executed the withing power and severally of Attorney and acknowledges that he executed the same as his free act and deed for the uses and purposes therein expressed.
