Backus, 51, of 126 Kimball street, Framingham, formerly of this city, died yesterday in the veterans hospital in Jamaica Plain. He was born in Moretown, Vt., and resided here previous to moving to Framingham 10 years ago. He was a veteran of World War II. Besides his wife, Mrs. Pearl (Morey) Backus, he is survived by a daughter, Cynthia A.; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Dana Deschenes of this city; and two sisters, Mrs. Emily Mazanec of this city and Miss Elaine Backus of Phoenix, N.H. Full military honors will be paid at the funeral to be held in the Volpe funeral home, Framingham, tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 o?clock with burial in Edgell Grove cemetery in that city.
