HAYES-BASSETT: Mrs. Sherrold E. Bassett of West Barnstable, announced the engagement of her daughter, Miss Susan Bassett, to Norman Westerling Hayes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Hayes of Centerville. Daughter also of the late Mr. Bassett, Miss Bassett is a graduate of Fisher Jr. College. Mr. Hayes, a graduate of Stockbridge Forestry School at the University of Massachusetts, is a senior in the Forestry School at the University of Georgia. A summer wedding is planned.
