Bassett passed away February 20, 2014. He has forever gone fishing. He was one of nine children, and was born December 4, 1945 to Jacie and Chancy Bassett. Allen met Sandy Eckard in 1967 and they married April 5, 1968. Together their union brought two daughters Missy and Becky. He always enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all camping. He spent most of his life working in the oilfield industry. Allen spent the last 20 plus years living in Casper. He never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, all eight of his siblings and one grandson, Randy. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughters, Melissa (Dan) Holso, Rebecca (Ben) Schaffer; grandchildren, Chancey Holso, Shelby (Dillon) Smedley, Paige, Matthew and Lukas Neal; step-grandchildren, Nick, Brittney and Michael Schaffer and two great-grandsons, Koda and Jude. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great friends. In honoring his wishes a service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate donations be made to Central Wyoming Hospice.
