Scott Aric Richards, 52, formerly of Milton, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his home in Shelburne. Scott was born July 2, 1963 in Burlington, the son of Stanley and Sandra Bassett Richards. He attended the Milton school system and graduated from Milton High School in 1982. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Vermont Natural Gas Systems. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing with his son Tyler and spending time with his family.
He leaves his son Tyler of Shelburne and his parents, Stan and Sandra Richards of Milton. His brother, Steven Richards and his companion, Mary Barr of Burlington as well as several uncles and aunts.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11 am in the Milton Village Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, September 10th from 5 to 8 pm in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7 in Milton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Chittenden County, 142 Kindness Court, South Burlington, VT 05403 or to the Milton Historical Society, 13 School Street, Milton, VT 05468.
