John (Bassett) Weigel
Weigel Jr., John (Bassett) Age 58, of Howard City passed away unexpectedly on September 22 at his residence. He was born March 18, 1957 in Lakeview the son of John and Rose (Roberts) Weigel. John was a man of many friends, he would do anything for them. He loved spending time with his family, they meant the world to him. John also loved working on his hot rods especially his 1970 Dodge Challenger. He spent many days and nights with his best friend Rick working on them. He worked for Edge Sweets as a fabricator for thirty seven years. John leaves behind his wife Kathleen of 38 years.Daughters Belinda (Michael) Fisher; Heather (Andrew) Fales; Grandchildren Heaven, Meoldie, Reece, Kade, Harper and Nova. Brothers Tom Bassett, Ron (Jackie) Bassett, Dave (Terry) Bassett, Gordon (Penny) Bassett; Sisters Diana (Dave) Bryant, Terry (Carl) Griffes; Father in law Edwin Thompson; Brother in law Edwin (Onna) Thompson and many nieces and nephews that he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Rose Bassett, John Weigel Sr. Grandchild Avary, Brother James Bassett and Mother in law Shirley Thompson and sister in law Marceia Thompson and his best friend Rick McKenzie. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Heckman Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 11:00 AM until time of services.
