Norma Bassett Cahill
Norma Bassett Cahill, 96, of Colusa, CA, passed away June 3, 2023. She was born February 10, 1927, in Deseret, Utah, to Niels Knudsen Nielsen and Gerda Boeslund Nielsen.
Norma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Years ago she was active in Cubs Scouts as a Den Mother.
When her husband became disabled she attended college to earn a degree as an L.V.N. She worked in the pediatrics department, which she loved. She retired from Mercy Hospital in Redding, CA.
Norma had a passion for traveling in her R.V. as well as fishing and golf. She never missed a senior dance.
She married Robert J. Bassett, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and three of their four children, Niels, Dennis and Doug. Bob Jr., is her only surviving son.
In midlife she remarried four times, namely to Germain Charest, Allen Banchero, Ed Kerl and David Cahill. Each are deceased.
She has numerous great, great-great and three times great-grandchildren. She loved them all and they loved her.
At her request, there will be a graveside service at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery. No date has been set.
In lieu of flowers, Norma requests donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
