Philip J. Bassette Dies At His Home
Pittsfield, Sept. 5 – Philip J. Bassette, 78, died this afternoon at his home, 29 ½ East Mill street. Had he lived until tomorrow he would have been 79.
Born in Milton, Canada, Mr. Bassette had lived in this city 75 years. Survivors are his widow, Agnes; one daughter, Mrs. Harold Austin, of Hartford, Ct., formerly of this city; one son, Charles H. Bassette of Pittsfield; and one brother, Mose, of Burlington, Vt.; and eight grandchildren.
