In the "History of the Town of Richmond, Cheshire, New Hampshire", William Bassett (born 29 Dec 1747) is listed as the son of the Joseph Bassett who was born in 1715 in Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts, which would make him a descendant of William Bassett of Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts. No proof of this has been found as yet. Joseph Bassett (born 1715) of Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts, had a son, Nehemiah Bassett, born 20 Feb 1748. This would make it impossible for William to be born four months previous to this. A William Bassett was also not listed in the will for Joseph Bassett (born 1715) of Lynn.
