She was 96. She was born September 3, 1913, in San Diego to William and Lula Bennett Chapman. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Ronald of Sanford, Colorado; two daughters, Elizabeth Farnworth of Oliver, British Columbia, and Peggy Usher of Gibbonsville, Idaho; six grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her husband of 45 years, Virgil Bassett, died Aug. 28, 1979. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.
