Bassett, 90, of Hartford City, a bookkeeper, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. The Wells County native worked at the Chevrolet dealership in Albany and had lived in Wells, Allen and Blackford counties. She was a member of Epworth Forest United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Billie Samec of Fort Wayne and Melinda Rains of Hartford City, sisters, Alicea Ebert of Montpelier and Kathryn Nusbaumer of Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F., in 1970 and two brothers. Private family services will be held. There is no calling. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Cemetery, Mucnie.
