George William Bass passed away September 10, 2005 at the age of 98. He was born November 14, 1906 in Wellington, Ohio to Ethel and Harry Bass. He spent his first 12 years in Yukon, Oklahoma where his father was the mayor. He graduated from Central High School and the University of Oklahoma. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He founded the George W. Bass Insurance Agency in March, 1931 from which he retired December 31,1986. He served in the Air Force in World War II as a Major in the Army Air Corps Intelligence serving with General George Patton in Europe. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Men's Dinner Club, Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, Lotus Club, Colleagues, Circle Club, and Oklahoma Heritage Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Scott Bass, his brother Bolyston Bass and his sister Elizabeth Blair. He is survived by his son William Scott Bass, Oklahoma City, daughter Linda Kleinsasser, Bellevue, Washington, grandchildren Ron Bass, Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Melinda Burnett, Dodge Center, Minnesota, Brian Bass, Carrollton, Texas, and great-grandchildren. A private family service will be held.
