Glenda K. DeLoach Wed to Gary Bass
The marriage of Miss Glenda Kay DeLoach and Gary Junior Bass was solemnized in a double-ring ceremony at 7 p.m. on November 22 in the Central Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dan Youngblood officiating. Nuptial music was rendered by Mrs. Charles Monday, organist, who accompanied Charles F. Wilson, soloist.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse James DeLoach of Anniston. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Junior Bass of Scottsboro.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of white taffeta faced with Alencon lace with a portrait neckline. The long fitted sleeves ended in points on the hands, and the cathedral train fell from her shoulders.
The bride’s illusion mantilla was edged with scalloped Alencom lace. She carried a cascade of an orchid surrounded by French carnations.
Mrs. David Talmage, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Carol Carr, Miss Peggy Knight and Mrs. Gene Morace.
They wore floor-length gold velvet gowns with Empire waists accented by satin bows and long sleeves ending with a ruffle of velvet lined in beige lace. The back panel of gold satin was set off by a bow at the waist. Their headpieces were gold velvet bows with veils of gold illusion. They carried nosegays of yellow, gold and bronze mums.
The groom’s father was his best man. Ushers were Harry Hancock and Mickie Elliott of Scottsboro, and David Talmage of Anniston.
The bride’s mother wore a turquoise street-length sheath dress with bodice of turquoise lace and the groom’s mother wore a light blue knit dress ensemble with matching accessories. Both wore corsages of white carnations.
A reception was held by the bride’s parents in the fellowship hall of the church.
For travel, the bride wore a grey and white coat and dress ensemble.
The couple will be at home in Huntsville.
