- In Memory of Linda Wood Parmenter

Linda Wood Parmenter, 61, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014.
Mrs. Parmenter was born April 5, 1953, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the daughter of Harrison Bassett, Jr. and Yvonne Limbaugh Wood.
She obtained a Masters degree in Early Childhood from West Georgia and an Undergraduate degree in Psychology from Mercer University. She was the Director of First Presbyterian Preschool for the past 19 years and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension. She has past service on the Bartow County DFACS Board, was a past president of the Cartersville Service League, was a member of the Etowah Valley Historical Society and in her early years in Cartersville taught at Cloverleaf Elementary for 5 years.
Surviving is her husband, Guy Parmenter of Cartersville, two sons, Stuart Parmenter of San Francisco, Andrew Parmenter of Cartersville, a daughter, Julie Parmenter of Atlanta, her parents, Yvonne and Harrison Bassett Wood, Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas, brother and sister- in- law, David and Michelle Wood of Mountain View, California, sister and brother- in- law, Susan and Hank Page of Little Rock, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014,at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mary Erikson, Rev. Ted Smith, Rev. Julie Jensen and Rev. Louis Tonsmeire officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Preschool.
Pallbearers will be Randy Wrinkle, Sean Ireland, Walker Page, Scott Holder, Phillip Jehlen and Jason Bobo.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of the First Presbyterian Church and Preschool.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Preschool Linda Parmenter Scholarship Fund or the Episcopal Church of the Ascension Building Fund.
Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
