Norma Bassett, Stafford Springs
Norma Bassett of Stafford Springs died Wednesday at Evergreen Health Care Center in Stafford Springs. She was 80.
She was born in Stafford Springs and was a member of St. Edward Parish.
She was a store detective at Brown-Thompson department store for 10 years before retiring.
She is survived by two sons, George W. Bassett Jr. of Georgia and Allyn J. Bassett of Stafford Springs; a daughter, Beverly Gonsalves of South Carolina; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Fantoli of Jamestown, R.I.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband, George W. Bassett, died previously.
A Mass will be celebrated Friday, at 10 a.m., at St. Edward Church. Burial will be in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, at the family's convenience. There are no calling hours. Introvigne Funeral Home Inc., 51 E. Main St., Stafford Springs, is making arrangements.

Richard Bassett, 35, Stafford Springs
Richard C. Bassett, formerly of Stafford Springs, died Friday at his home in Mansfield Center. He was 35.
He was born in Manchester and lived in Stafford Springs most of his life.
He is survived by his grandmother, Norma Tonidandel Bassett; three children, Aaron M. Bassett, Jessica M. Bassett and Amber J. Bassett, all of Stafford; three brothers, Allen J. Bassett of Stafford and David and Barry Bassett of South Carolina; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service and burial in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, will be private. There are no calling hours. Introvigne Funeral Home, Stafford Springs, is handling arrangements.
