  Notes	The Shelby Democrat, Thursday, April 11, 1895, Page 3 Column 3 James Towns James Town died at his home one and half mile northeast of Marion at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, April 7, of lung fever, age 48 years and 4 months. Funeral services were held in the M.E. church in Marion at 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. M.A. Farr officiating. Interment in the Marion cemetery under the auspices of Dumont Post 18, G.A.R., of this city. Cummins & Edwards had charge. The Shelby Democrat, Thursday, April 18, 1895, Page 1 column 8 James Towns James Towns died at his home, two miles east of this place, on Sunday morning at 3:30 o?clock. He was born in Shelby county in 1847 and was a soldier in the late war. In his death we lose a worthy citizen and one who had many friends all over the country. His death was a great shock to his family and relatives as he was thought not to be seriously ill until a few hours before death. The funeral occurred from the M.E. church, at this place, Monday, at two p.m., Rev. M.A. Farr officiating. Services were conducted at the grave. Cummins & Edwards had charge of the remains.
