Each of Samuel Bassett's eight children inherited 1/8 of the estate of Samual Bassett when he died and sold their share to Eliada. At the time of Samuel's death, Eliada was married to Abigail and lived in Alford, MA as did Ethan and Loley Boyes and Benoni Bassett. The Humistons and Olmsteads lived in Egremont. The Phelps and Potters lived in Hillsdale, New York. Lyman lived in Barrington, Yates County, New York.
Buried at the Alford Cemetery on the road to North Egremont in the Bassett plot are: Eliada Bassett/died/August 16, 1849/aged 74 years. Also stone: Memory of Mr. Samuel Bassett/who died Feb 19, 1826/aged 74 years. Also stones: Emily Lavina, daughter of Seth and Polly Phelps, died 2 Sep 1821, aged 8 years. Also: Memory of John B. Bassett, son of Bonomi and Anna Bassett of New York who died 13 Sep 1821 age 3 years; Also: Polly L., wife of Seth Phelps, died 1 Aug 1850, age 61 years 1 month.
