      Percy Spurgeon Simpson Jr., 74

      GRASONVILLE, Md. -- Percy Spurgeon Simpson Jr. of Grasonville died Monday, April 19, 1999, in Veterans Rehabilitation Center, Baltimore. He was 74.

      Mr. Simpson was born on Oct. 27, 1924, in Richmond, Va., the son of the late Percy S. Simpson Sr. and Frances Gaylor Simpson.

      He moved with his family to Hagerstown, Md., then to Washington D.C., where he graduated from Eastern High School.

      Mr. Simpson was veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force. He received the American Theater Ribbon and World War II Victory Ribbon.

      He became a self-employed home builder, and later a kitchen cabinet design specialist.

      Mr. Simpson was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in Kensington, Md.

      He is survived by two sons, Charles E. Simpson of Centreville, Md. , and Michael P. Simpson of California; two daughters, Lynne J. Hill of Irving, Texas and Susie Ann Emmons of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Warnke of Corpus Christi, Texas and seven grandchildren.

      Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 408 S. Liberty St., Centreville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

      Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock.
