Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Newcomer's Floral Hills Chapel, where the rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Mrs. Bassett was born in Centerville, Iowa, and lived in this area most of her life. She was a sales clerk for TG&Y Stores for 15 years, retiring in 1989. She was a Catholic. Survivors include her husband, Virgil J. Bassett of the home; a son, Jerry L. Bassett, Kansas City; a daughter, Mary Sue Peterson, Archie, Mo.; five sisters, Susie Kiesling, Raytown, Rose Mary Brooks, Greenwood in Jackson County, Clara Carter, Silver Springs, Nev., Mary DePlasita, Kansas City, and Nancy Rove, Independence; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
