Nancy Jane Bassett
BASSETT, NANCY JANE - Of Lansing, formerly of Jackson, expired peacefully Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing from complications following surgery, age 55. Survived by her brother; Leland K. (Tina) of Farmington Hills, MI, W. George (Edwina) of Issaquah, WA; three nephews, Robert I. Bassett of Detroit, Joshua A. (Michelle) Bassett of Detroit and John Bassett of Sammamish, WA; two nieces, Emily (Eric) Snyder of Sammamish, WA; Vanessa Bassett of Ireland; three grandnieces; and one grandnephew. Interment will be a simple graveside ceremony in the family burial plot next to her mother and father on a rise overlooking nature and corn fields in East Liberty Township, MI, in the shadows of a still-active 19th century stone church. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Vera A. Bassett Nursing Scholarship at Jackson Community College, 2111 Emmons Road, Jackson, MI., 49201, 517-787-0244. Those of you who had the pleasure of knowing Nancy should remain joyful in her accomplishments of simply living each day and the joy she experienced from the joy we felt with her.
