Willie Mae Bass

Willie Mae Bass, 80, of Houston, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church, 8310 Southview Street, Houston, Texas; followed by A Celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m.; Eulogist Rev. A. Jefferson, Jr. Her Final Resting place will be at Paradise South Cemetery, Pearland, Texas.
Willie Mae was raised in Rosharon. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Riverbrook Missionary Baptist Church in Houston. Willie Mae united in Holy Matrimony on October 24, 1964, to Charles Bass her husband of 55 years until his passing. Their union was blessed with two children Cheryl Denise Bass and Charles Bass, Jr.
Willie Mae worked at Continental Plastic Containers, in Houston, Texas for 35 plus years until her retirement. Willie Mae loved all of her family and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and grannie. Willie Mae had four passions other than her husband and family, which were sleeping, playing the slot machines at the Casino, watching all sports (Texan fan) and drinking her Dr. Peppers.
Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents and her six siblings (two brothers and four sisters).
She leaves to cherish her memories two children, Cheryl Denise Bass; son, Charles Bass, Jr.; and daughter-in-law Carlisa Bass; two Grandsons, aka "The Boys", Torrin Jarrell Bass (Francine), Jordan Charles Bass (Deantia), four great-grandchildren Journei Denise Bass, Carter Alexander Bass, Jamir Prince Bass, Elijah Jarell Bass; six nieces, three nephews; two great-nephews; three great-nieces; two great-great-nephews; and three great-great-nieces.

Willie Bass
On July 25, 1943, in Beasley, Texas, Will and Ruby Burton were blessed once again with the sixth of their seven children, a baby girl Willie Mae Burton. Willie Mae was raised in Rosharon Texas where she attended China Grove Elementary and graduated from Marshall High School in Angelton, Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Riverbrook Missionary Baptist Church in Houston.
Willie Mae united in Holy Matrimony on October 24, 1964, to Charles Bass her husband of 55 years until his passing. Willie Mae and Charles moved to Houston, Texas and started their life together. Their union was blessed with two children Cheryl Denise Bass and Charles Bass, Jr. Willie Mae worked at Continental Plastic Containers, in Houston, Texas for 35 plus years until her retirement.
