Mitchell-Bassett
The marriage of Miss Jerome O. Mitchell and Mr. Everett I. Bassett took place on June 3rd at the home of the bride’s mother. Miss Mitchell, daughter of Mrs. Edith Mitchell, 528 East Independence Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma, was principal of the Crowburg, Kansas School until her resignation this past spring; and a major of the Physical Education Department of the K.S.T.C. Pittsburg.
Mr. Bassett, son of Mr. and Mrs. P.H. Bassett of this city is head of the department of History at the Northeast Junior High School of Kansas City, Kansas and a Major of the History department of the K.S.T.C. Pittsburg.
Following the marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bassett went to Pittsburg for summer school work. At the close of summer school the couple will visit a few days in Chetopa and Tulsa and then enjoy a wedding trip to Gloucester, Massachusetts, until opening of the Kansas City schools in September.
Those present at the wedding were relatives and close friends of the bride and groom, namely: Mrs. Edith Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. H. Johnston, Mrs. C. Williams, Mr. Hannibal Rankins, Mrs. J.T. Braxton, Dr. and Mrs. R. T. Bridgewater, Reverend and Mrs. Jas. A. Johnson, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kennedy of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. P.H. Bassett, Mr. Edgar Bassett and Miss Bernice Bassett of this city.
