  Notes	Washington Democrat, Mon., Apr. 24, 1911, p1, col 7. Mary A. Wykoff Died Sunday Mary A. Wykoff, wife of James W. Wykoff, a farmer living a short distance west of the city, died Sunday after a three weeks' illness. She was badly burned on the arms some time ago and the injury, along with affection of the brain, is said to have caused her death. Mrs. Wykoff was born on a farm a short distance north of Washington on March 10, 1840, and was seventy one years old. She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Elias Robinson. Fifty one years ago last Christmas she was married to James W. Wykoff and six children were born. Only one chil still lives. That is a son, Elijah Wykoff, of Jefferson, Oklahoma. Besides her husband she leaves one brother, William Robinson of Garden City, Kansas, one half-brother, Richard Robinson, and two half-sisters, Mrs. George Brown and Mrs. Samuel Smith. The funeral will be held at the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and burial will be made at Oak Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Hayden H. Allen will officiate at the funeral. Mrs. Wykoff was a member of the Cumberland church. Washington Herald, Mon., Apr. 24, 1911, p1, col 4. Accidental Burns Hastens Death Mrs. Mary A. Wykoff, Wife of James W. Wykoff, Passes Away. Mrs. Mary A. Wykoff, seventy one years old, and the wife of James W. Wykoff, an influential and prominent farmer of Washington township, died at her home northwest of Washington at 11 o'clock Sunday night. The health of Mrs. Wykoff has been failing for sometime, but about three weeks ago she was severely burned about the arms in an accident and these injuries hastened her death. The maiden of of Mrs. Wykoff was Robinson. She was born in Daviess county and had lived in the county all her life. Six children were born to the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Wykoff, which took place December 25, 1858. One of these, Elijah Wykoff of Oklahoma, is living. Mrs. Wykoff was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. The funeral services will be held from the family home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. H.H. Allen, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
