Robert Andrew "Bob" Bassett, 32, died Monday, June 2, 2008. Born September 28, 1975 in Landstuhl, Germany he was a computer programmer and a member of the Cary Masonic Lodge #198. Funeral service will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Masonic Rites. Surviving are: wife, Tara Jones Bassett; his mother, Diane Weidner and husband, Mike of Selma; father, Bill Bassett and wife, Connie of Montgomery, AL; sister, Tiffany Bassett of Selma; maternal grandparents, Mary and Alfice Bissette of Kenly; paternal grandmother, Genevieve Bassett of Phoenix, AZ: stepbrother, Michael Weidner of Wilson's Mills; stepsisters, Julie Weidner of Boone, Wendy Neuschafer of Smithfield and Pamela Wheeler of Clayton. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565, Condolences may be sent to the family at www.parrishfh.com.
