Kevin Bassett, age 50, a resident of Spooner, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 6, 2016 at his home.
Kevin was born in Spooner on August 30, 1965, to parents Chester and Marie (Stellrecht) Bassett. He graduated from Spooner High School in 1984 and worked with his father at Bassett and Stellrecht Construction. He later worked at the old Spooner Post Office, Shadow Plastics in Rice Lake, and most recently for 13 years at Northstates in Siren. When he was younger, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed visiting with people in the community about years past. He was a collector of model classic cars, signs and antiques, but his greatest pride and joy was his daughter Jenna.
Kevin is survived by his mother Marie Bassett of Spooner, daughter Jenna Bassett of New Richmond, WI, brothers and sisters: Karie (Donnie) Taylor of Hertel, WI, Kent (Kim) Bassett of Spooner, WI, Kristy (Bill) Thompson of Exeter, CA, niece Emmie and nephew Jackson Bassett of Spooner.
Kevin is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Casket bearers will be Jackson Bassett, Darren Christner, Jon Johnson, Jim Johnson, Jon Lechnir, Brian Lemke, Donnie Taylor, and Bill Thompson.
