Josie Bass Farmer
Mrs. Josie Bass Farmer, formerly of Mannsville, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Troy Gill in Paducah at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, [1964] after a long illness. She was 82. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 24 in the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home by Rev. J.D. Campbell and Rev. J.C. Wood. Burial was in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Farmer was born in Taylor County. She was the daughter of the late Susan Noel & William Bass. She was a member of the Church of God. 62 years ago she was married to Elliott Farmer, who preceded her in death November 30, 1953. She is survived by 3 sons and 3 daughters, Fronzie, Rt. 1, Elkhorn; H.H., Louisville; and Gilbert, of Marseilles, IL; Mrs. C.A. Blair, Louisville; Mrs. Jack Finney, Middletown, OH; and Mrs. Troy Gill, Paducah. Besides her children, she is survived by: 1 sister and 1 brother, C.C. Childers, Mannsville, and Mont Bass, of Marseilles, IL; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jackie Farmer, Robert Blair, Kenneth Blair, Randall, Jerry and Mikel Farmer.
