Cornelius ?Bubba? Bass
Cornelius "Bubba" Bass, 75, of Natchez, died April 1, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today at Webb Funeral Home in Natchez. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 11 Howard Loop Road, in the Selma community in Adams County.
Pastor Willie Anderson will officiate, and burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Cemetery in Adams County.
Mr. Bass was born June 27, 1932, in Franklin County. He was the son of Althia Session and Monroe Bass.
He was a member of St. Mary M.B. Church.
He was a retired truck driver for Blain Incorporated in Natchez and enjoyed talking on his CB radio. Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Roosevelt Bass Sr., Arthur Hunt and Vernon Hunt.
Survivors include his wife, Mary R. Bass of Natchez; two sisters, Lillie B. Hunt and Lula Gilmore, both of Natchez; seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Curtis Swayze of Pekin, Ill., Arthur Richardson Jr. and Grace, and Sam and Dora Richardson, all of Roxie, and Willie and Pamela Richardson, Michael and Karen Richardson, Karl and Sandral Richardson, and Tony and Teresa Richardson, all of New Orleans; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Cora Manuel of Dallas, Sherry and Robert Brown of McComb, Julia and Charlie Clark, and Brenda Russell, all of Natchez; 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Arthur Richardson, Sam Richardson, Willie Richardson, Michael Richardson, Tony Richardson and Jarrod Isaac.
Honorary pallbearers will be Karl Richardson and Roosevelt Bass Jr.
