Mitchell G. Bass a retiree of Weirton Steel Corporation entered into his eternal rest on Monday, August 22, 2016.
He was born May 28,1920 in Havana, Cuba to the late Antonio Elbert and Mary Pugh Bass.
Although Psalm 90;10 reads That our days come to 70 years or 80 if our strength endureth, our heavenly Father graciously allowed him to be with us until the age of 96.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Antonio Bass and Bernice Bass; three children, Mitchell Bass Jr ,Diana Wilson, Cynthia Bass and a grandson, Robert Ali Bass.
He married the love of his life, Ethel Dameron Bass on March 11,1948. The Lord blessed their union of 68 years with nine children. He leaves six children, Michael (Patrice) Christian of Pickerington, Ohio, Kareena Ashby Bass of Kennesaw, Georgia, Allura (Stefan,Sr.) Hargrove of Chicago, Illinois, Tony Bass, Attorney Meeta Bass and Crystal Bass, all of Steubenville, Ohio, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren to cherish his memory. Mitchell's devotion in life was his family. He took great pride in their accomplishments; his family is his legacy.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church located at 708 North 5th, Street, Steubenville, Ohio, on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10 AM until time of funeral services noon. Interment at Union Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vinson House of Mortuary, 711 North 5th Street, Steubenville, Ohio.
