One Wm. Bassett a soldier of the Florida War and living near me, asks me to write the department in his interest. He is an old man, now 83 years. Now getting 8 Dol. per month, pention, and thinks he should have more. And when compaired with many others, his claim appears to me to be resonable. I am unable to give his Regiment and Co. But. William Bassett Norman, Phelps Co, MO will catch him and, if here is any thing I can do for the old man, if you will instruct me, I will furnish all necessary information necessary in the matter. I am not an agent, or an interested party in any way, and write this as a favor to the ? without any claim on him, or any consideration as its merits deserve. Respectuflly yrs. W.W. Via Norman, Mo.
