  Notes	The Washington Post, DC, 4 Jul 2004 Diane Thomson Bassett Diane Thomson Bassett, 76, a volunteer and homemaker, died from respiratory failure June 22 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. She lived in Falls Church. Born in Connecticut, she married her high school sweetheart in 1949 and moved to the Washington area a decade later. A drama student in high school, Mrs. Bassett enjoyed writing poetry and singing. She volunteered for several years with the Humane Society in Falls Church. Her husband, Harold N. Bassett, died in 1995. Her son Stephen Bassett died in 1967, and son William Bassett died in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Jill T. Clum of Bedford, Va., and five granddaughters.
