West Cornwall Weddings
Bassett-Trenerry, At Helston
Canon J.U. Yonge rector of Mawgan officiated at St. Michael?s Church, Helston on Thursday, at the wedding of Miss Mattie Trenerry, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. St. Aubyn Trenerry, of Mudgeon Farm, St. Marin-in-Meneage, and Mr. Robert Bassett, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bassett, of Relil, Helston.
The service was fully choral with Mr. Leslie J. Ursell at the organ.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of grenadine, with a veil, orange blossom and silver shoes.
The bridesmaid, Miss J. Brown, of Penzance, wore a dress of blue velvet, with silver shoes. Mr. C. Pearce, of Falmouth, was best man, and Messrs. J. Trenerry (brother of the bride), H. Morkam, and Opie were ushers.
The bridegroom?s gift to the bride was a dressing set, and to the bridesmaid a powder case. The bride?s gift to the bridegroom was a gold wristlet watch.
The reception was at the Brown Owl, Helston, and the guests included Canon Yonge, Messrs. J. Burrow, send, and jun. (Launceston), Mr. and Mrs. J. Ope, Mr. and Mrs. F. Courtis, Mr. C. Hocking, Mr. P. Hodge, (Newton Abbot), Mr. and MRs. J. Hodge (Plymouth), Miss E Hicks, Mrs. N. Pentecost, Mrs. Powell, Mrs. Curno, Mrs. J.K. White, Mr. and Mrs. Kitto, Mr. A. C. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. H. Morkham, and Miss Tresider.
The couple later left for London.
