Dorothy Hogan Bass

BASS, Mrs. Dorothy Hogan, 88, a resident of Brantley died Monday November 18, 2013. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Norris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Bass was an active member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church and served for 20 years as librarian at Slocomb High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Bass; her parents, Jesse L. and Bertha Rudd Hogan; two sisters, Ruth Powell and Doris Tomlin; and two brothers, John Hogan and Melvin Hogan. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles R. and Rebecca Bass, Jr.; two grandchildren, Lindsey Bass and Lauren Bass; sister, Betty Sue (Jay) Mitchell ; brother, C.J. (Carrie) Hogan; and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Jay Mitchell, Stan Mitchell, Danny Smith, Mike Hogan, Donnie Howell and Karl Eiland. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10am until service time.
