Linden Mae Buell

Linden (Lindy) Mae Bass Buell, 90 of Coburg Village, Clifton Park, NY, formerly of Earlville, NY, died on Monday Oct. 19, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Linden was born on Jan. 4, 1925 in Front Royal, VA and was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Bass and Linden Virginia Bolen Brezler Bass of Front Royal, Virginia. She was a graduate of the University of Virginia where she received her Registered Nursing degree. Later in life, Linden was a Nurse Clinician and a Physicians Assistant. She retired as a nursing supervisor from Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, NY after 38 years of devoted service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Earlville for more than 50 years. Lindy was an active member of the Clifton Park Center Baptist Church since moving to Coburg Village 10 years ago.
She was the beloved wife of the late Shirley Buell who died in May of 2004. She and Shirley met at UVA in 1943 during WWII. Shirley was in the Navy V12 program and Lin was in the Nursing school. They were married on July 5, 1945. She was the devoted mother of Edwin A. (Rose) Buell of Ballston Lake. Lindy was predeceased by her four siblings; sister of the late Charles Henry Bass, Jr. (Colleen), Samuel Arthur Bass (Jean), Eleanor Elizabeth Bass Lashley (Richard) and Nancy Lee Bass Wuerfel (Hans); cherished grandmother of Erin (Brett) Morey of Monroe, CT, and Brian D. (Katie) Buell of Somerville, MA; cherished great grandmother of McKenna Grace Morey and Leah Joy Morey; also survived by several nieces and nephews and many in the next generation as well.
Lindy was a person with many talents. Many people benefited from her gifts of compassion, serving and care giving. All of her life she was an avid gardener, and her small garden plot outside her apartment at Coburg Village was one of the most beautiful in the entire complex. She loved to crochet, and was one who didnt mind sewing together squares that others made into afghans. The ladies at Coburg Village produced many afghans for veterans and for youth programs in Clifton Park. Mom was always curious, read the paper every day, watched interesting things on TV, and continued to follow news in the nursing world. Mom also had an incredible sense of humor and would say what she meant. anytime. Her smile and interest in our lives and participating in them will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, NY, followed by interment in the Earlville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from Noon until 2pm prior to the service.
