Columbia, MS - Services for Virginia Ann Bass will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM Good Hope Baptist Church in Columbia ,MS . Burial will follow in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia, MS, with Hathorn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Bro. Adair Jernigan and Bro. Denny Patterson and Bro. Johnny Watts will officiate.
Virginia"Ginny" Bass, 61, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. She was born April 19, 1954 in Ruleville, MS.
Mrs. Bass was a active member of Good Hope Baptist Church,and the Pine Needle Garden Club. She enjoyed working in her yard. She and her husband worked many years together at Bass Christmas Tree Farm and Gift Shop. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. "Who were all her favorite."
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Lou Dean Porter and infant sister Shirlene Porter:
She is survived by her husband , Wesley Bass, Columbia, MS, son Adam Wesley Bass "Connie", Columbia, MS, daughters Melissa Adams , Columbia, MS,and Kim Shoemake "Stephen", Sumrall, MS, grand children Lexi Adams, Olivia Adams, Caleb Bass, Porter Shoemake, Presley Shoemake, and Claire Bass, brother, Robert Porter,sisters,Shirley Jennings, and Linda Bennett, and a host of extended family members.
Pallbearers will Ricky Townsend, William Anthony, Greg Watts, Steve Byrd, Jeff Watts, Casey Graham, Tommy Pennington, and Rodney Robbins,
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia.
